Very interesting stuff! I never knew that Shelby faced such charges at the end of the war. I will definitely contact the Greene County Archives for the affadavits against Shelby. I will also have to see if I can identify the C. Franklin, Shelby mentions. I would love to see the Burning of Bowers Mills affadavits too.

Thank you for posting this letter, it definitely gives me another avenue to investigate. I probably donít need a copy of the original, but this transcription is great!
