My great grandfather Joseph Johnson was born in August
1841 in Madison County, Missouri. He was a member of the
Missouri State Guard serving in the 1st Division, 3rd
Infantry Regitment under Col. Aden Lowe, in 1861. In August,1862, he joined the 8th Missouri Calvary.
