Thanks to both of you for the response. I never knew that about Kentuckytown even tho I grew up in the area around Bonham. I will try that library soon and also try to locate the book Quantrill and Texas. (Family tales and tradition relate that my ancestors were involved with a splinter group of Quantrill; altho I never found any proof of a Quantrill association, he still fascinates me.) I have been to the Confederate Cemetery in HIgginsville MO where Quantrill's body is buried altho according to the parks ranger - his head is elsewhere. I found that gruesome, if true. My own ancestor settled in Sherman and supposedly was involved in some sort of "fracus" there after the war but I can never track down any real information....just unsubstantiated rumors. Thanks again for your help.
