Thanks for pointing that post out, small world ain't it. I remembered the posting as soon as you mentioned it as I responded about artillary being used. I just didn't put 2 and 2 together but the dates and units certainly match!

An interesting aside, this appears to be a bit more than just a skirmish yet it is downplayed by both the Union and the Confederates ala Fulton County History. If you read the OR you'll note Wood reports 3 union killed but names 4 outright in the body of the report, (bugler, Mack, Watt, Kendall; and Rotteken and Pierce as badly wounded).

Isn't history fun:>)
