Hello. I am sorry but I cannot tell you anything about your ancestor.
However, I had a distant connection that ran one of the supply trains for Nathan Bedford Forrest. He was a CSA Lt. with the 7th Tenn. Cav.
It was not a real train as such, but a group of wagons that carried supplies to the men where ever they may have been hold up at the time.
These men were important to the war effort and did follow military orders. The way I understand it was an honor to have this position.
He was not, nor was he ever, a teamster as such as he was a regular person who was a soldier who was put to work.
Could have been what your ancestor did for his group?
