My great-great grandfather enlisted in Epstein's Battalion of MSM Cavarly in March 1862. This unit later became the 13th MSM Cavalry and still later was reorganized into the 5th MSM Cavalry. While I have found some very basic historical information about the unit I can't find much else. Does anyone have information on uniforms or equipment or any real information on engagements?
