My late husband's great-grandfather was a scout and chaplain for Quantrill and his men. We were told that he also supplied Quantrill's men with horses. Yep, great-grandpa was a horse thief, but I like to say he "procured" horses from the North (and anyone and anywhere he could find them). Kind of sounds better to say procured than stole!!!!!!
