Enrolled, Muster-In, Enlisted Terms?

I have read many Union service record cards where they mention the Enrolled Date (when the soldier signed up) and the Muster-In Date (when the soldier showed up for duty).

In going through some Confederate service record cards, they have cards that show either both the Enrolled Date and Muster-In Date or just an Enlisted Date.

I know these cards are just transcriptions of some original rolls somewhere, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the term Enlisted Date related to the Enrolled Date or the Muster-In Date? (Or could Enlisted Date be both - as the the Confederates were picking up recruits on the move)
