Santa Fe Raid--Possibly Cobb in 1862

"...I learn that Cobb, with about two hundred men, has arrived in the brush near Santa Fe, in the southeast corner of this county. This is authentic...."
Letter to the Editor from "Shavings", St. Louis Republican, August. 15, 1862, p. 1

The Pilcher account referenced in a preceding post doesn't provide a timeframe. He would have been age 13 during this Cobb raid in the Santa Fe vicinity, an age that could have resulted in the guerrillas overlooking him and the hidden money in his shoes.
