I have been digging into some family history and have fallen into some fox holes while classing down rabbits and I need some help/advice.

My Great-great grandfather served in the 4th Missouri Calvary, the only problem is he was Discharged on January of 1862. the 4th did not become a unit till February of 62. Looking further into his records it shows he was a Fremont Hussar. This is were I get confused and could use some help.

So here is what I need help with:
1) are the Fremont Hussars the same as the 1st Reg. of the Missouri Calvary? They both seem to follow the same routes
2) Dyers Compendium has a few descriptions involving Fremont Bat. Calvary, are these the same as the Hussars?
3) are the Fremont Hussars the same as the Fremont Bodyguard?

Can someone please provide any information or were to look for the history and or movement of the Fremont Hussars, or should I just keep on this same theories? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
