Here's better information regarding Edwards' list -- He says the Confederates were James Bissett, John Wilson, Harvey Brown, Thomas Fulton, and Sandy McMacane.
Edwards also says "the Federals fired round after round into the already riddled bodies and scalped them afterwards to a man." Of course Edwards versions always have their problems because of his good/evil flourishes. Ex.--in this account he speaks about Thermopylae, and the men hollering "Good-bye to all." But...his Bissett angle now connects with less melodramatic accounts, and, coupled with the Federal officer's account I dug up admitting to a scalping of one of this same group of Confederates, suddenly Edwards' version has gained a lot of traction.
