If memory serves, Hager had something to do with John R Cohran's SO 89 militia out of Bollinger county that had roots in the 2nd MO Cav MSM. See this thread from 2008 where I, Bruce, and Kirby amongst others were picking this organization structure apart. Its weird to say the least, but Cochran had pretty much free reign to do anything he wanted and the unit has several call out murders to its name. Cochran got run out of Bollinger county and ended up in north Cape County post war. His daughter became a well known and respected teacher in the area.
