Not just a road trip...how about some of the local SCV members see about a couple of historical markers. I'm betting there's one or two members around Callaway County. -- One marker for the Prairie Grove Massacre/Givens site and one for the Renoe site. I have no idea what the procedure is but I'll do the write ups if somebody local wants to carry the ball. And maybe run an article in the local paper updating the story. What made it into the historical record is extremely sparse -- contrast that to my own paper file on the Prairie Grove Massacre which is about an inch and a half thick (my files on the entire Purcell Scouts project stacked on the floor reach up to my knee and I'm 5'11"). And I'm not near done researching. This'll all be incorporated into the work as footnotes.
