I have just found a William E. McWaters in the 8th Battalion MO. Infantry, Co. B. I was wondering if this could be the Anderson guerrilla and gunfighter, William McWaters. His past is sketchy and has some holes. The McWaters in the 8th served quickly from Nov. 1862 to January 1863 and deserted. Can anyone confirm the two McWaters are one in the same??
