I just don't think the age and timing and as much work that has gone into identifying Lawrence raid participants leads one to make a credible argument for it to have occurred. I could very well see him riding into the bush to pas messages or lead horses or deliver supplies etc as a 12 to 14 year old in 1861-3. Thats what I was alluding to earlier. He very well could have "ridden" with Quantrill's company or any other number of units passing through the neighborhood as part of the support structure of those units when in Lafayette/Saline county areas, but Lawrence I doubt it.
