"Wood's Battalion Missouri Cavalry (also known as Wood's Battalion of Light Artillery and Cavalry) was designated by the Confederate War Department as the 14th Battalion Missouri Cavalry. During the latter part of the war it was increased to a regiment and designated Wood's Regiment Missouri Cavalry."
