Re: GGUncles 3rd Missouri Cavalry

George,

I talked to my family doctor about Daniel dying of the chills. I noted to him this was in the summertime. He said this would have been septic shock. In other words, he said infection in his system overtook his organs, sent him into shock, causing him to die. Since he was shaking from shock they called it 'the chills'. Odd that some of the information on him seems to be conflicting. That is, place of death and dates. What do you make of that?

I heard that Calvin was wounded in his thigh like his brother Daniel and died of that wound in Mississippi. This is all I know on both of my GGUncles. I don't know whom the other Acres fellow is. Both Daniel and Calvin lived in California, Missouri. The Sons of Confederate Veterans held a memorial service for one, or both, of my ancestors a few years ago in Missouri. That third Acres that two, or three posters have found could be a relative that was already living in Missouri when my fellows moved there.

I have eight known Confederate ancestors....all in the cavalry with different battalions and regiments. Have one that was in Thomas' Cherokee Legion, too. I don't know much about any of them.
