Cindy; Capt. Fountain M. McKenzie served with Parson's in the Mexican war as one of his staff. He was well thought of by MSG leadership and received special mention in Parson's report on McKenzie's death at the Battle of Carthage. Its in the Official Records. see: http://battleofcarthage.org/official-records/

The Clark Township Southern Guards were functional and involved at Wilson's Creek, Carthage, Lexington, remnants were at Elkhart Tavern. They were assigned to Mosby Parson's 6th Division of the MSG. Similar to the Osage Tigers.
