"Gen'l Crabtree" redux

Imagine my surprise while knocking around in the family tree twigs when I found out that Joseph Proctor (b: 1806, Ky) living in Cole County in 1860 had been arrested for aiding and abetting one "Crabtree".He is listed as a "citizen soldier". It appears that a "warrant of charges" was issued Jeff City Sept 1 1862 for Proctor. A Capt. Legg was the arresting officer. Proctor was taken to Jeff City and held at the prison there and appears to have been mistakingly scheduled for transfer to Johnson Island. The error caught, he ends up at Alton by Oct 31, 1862. He is released or escaped and family lore has him being killed in Douglas County May of 1863.

I mention it because of the prior discussion of a list of supporters supposedly taken from Crabtree's body and the question of the year of death. It would seem to me that Proctor may have been on that list. Witnesses attesting to Proctors behavior were 2 with the last name of Music and a John Duncan all listed of Hickory Hills, Cole County.
