Re: William Greenwood
In Response To: William Greenwood ()

Have you located the William Greenwood that was part of the Quantrill raiders? I'm working on my family tree and some of the distant cousins have our William Greenwood as a member of this group. I haven't found anything to support it. What I do have is that William Greenwood, b. about 1822, Ohio, married, Elizabeth Lewis, in 1839, Platte County. He is found in the 1850 Clay County and the 1860 Howell County censuses. In 1860, his wife is Nancy, and according to a son's death certificate, his mother was Nancy Binkley. The Archive's Provost site, has Nancy and 5 of her children being transported to St. Louis by troops at Rolla, and according to a relative, she dies at Ft. Benton from wounds she received when she was rounded up with the children. The Provost site states she is crippled. Thank you for any direction you can give me. Marilyn Richardson
