Thanks, Bruce, for the info, and probable location of Cook's Store. Maybe this location near Concordia explains why Blunt seemed to have marched past Pleasonton's cavalry (Sanborn's brigade, among others) camped around Cook's Store, as he marched from Holden north to Lexington on the 18th. Blunt's line of march would probably have been 15-20 miles west of Concordia.

Blunt knew from his advance scouts where Sanborn was, but it seems that Blunt made no direct and immediate effort to inform Pleasonton of his plan to march to Lexington. So Blunt found himself alone when Price's whole army showed up on the afternoon of the 19th moving west at Lexington. Blunt was lucky to escape total destruction, although (as you know) this seldom happened anytime during the Civil War due to lag times in communication among the attackers and generally poor roads off the "main road."
