Southwest of Concordia, South of the Pacific Railroad on road from Aullville to Dunksburg,Roletta, and Georgetown in Pettis County.

Paul Moser lists the following: "Cook's Store was located in Freedom Township, Section 1, Township 48 N, Range 24 West. (--Campbell's New Atlas of Missouri, 1874, Map 24.)
Cook's Store is no longer listed in Lafayette County. The area described is north of Emma, (q.v.)

UM of MO lists the following: Cook's Store
Description: An early day country store and post office two miles west of Concordia. The store was owned by Mr. Fritz Cook. (Parker 1865; Goodwin 1867; Cook)

The best census fit is a Mordecai Cooke born 1817 Kentucky,died July 8 1896, buried New Hope Cemetery, married to Christine(a) Mock Davis in 1852, Freedom Township, Lafayette CO MO. She was first wife of Hamilton C Davis, daughter of David Mock.
