Re: ID Badge 3rd Colorado Volunteers

Thank you very much George for all the information given on Private Charles M. Webster, it will help me in my research. I also will be reading the book "Three Years and a Half in the Army" "History of the Second Colorados" by Mrs. Ellen Williams to give me a better feel of what this soldier went through during his time in the military. I located this small "one man" camp about 3 weeks ago (put it on youtube) and he left behind a few nice eagle buttons, a percussion lock plate, a token of some sort and a bunch of other nice relics. I dug a lot of iron as well and it appeared he was riding a horse and also had a mule following behind from the horse and mule shoes I found in the camp. I can only imagine he was following this trail going home after his enlistment was up when he was discharged from Ft. Leavenworth. This ID badge will be something I will treasure for the rest of my life! Thanks again.
