Price's Army Retreat in Indian Territory

Ever wonder what happened to Major General Sterling Price's Army after it retreated into Arkansas, Indian Territory and North Texas in November 1864? Including the route that each major command took? How close to disaster did Major General Price come to being captured by Federal Major General S. R. Curtis in Indian Territory? Why didn't Brigadier General Thayer at Ft. Smith join up with Curtis and attack Price as Price tried to cross the Arkansas River? He, ... he, ..., well he (Thayer) did try, sort of ... rode in circles.

Answers to these questions are provided in a long thread posted in the companion Message Board of The Civil War in Indian Territory. The thread is entitled "Price's Army Retreat in IT." The story line follows Price from the time he leaves Cane Hill, Arkansas on November 4, 1864 (on a daily basis plus 150 years) until he reaches Clarksville, Texas in late November. No pictures or maps are presented, but I hope you will find the text informative. Any comments would be appreciated as I am currently preparing a ten-chapter draft of the story line, hopefully with pictures and maps, for further historical documentation. This future version will add the importance of Price's Raid to the Trans-Mississippi military effort, and how one could argue that the future outcome of the war hung on what might happen if Price got lucky. And he did, several times, but... !!

Procedure to find the Retreat series:
1. Go to Indian Territory Message Board.
2. Search the posting date range of November 3, 2014 to November 4, 2014.
3. Click on the only post shown {Price's Army Retreat into IT (Indian Territory) for 11/4/2014 }
4. Scroll down the resulting post to see the entire thread (Price's Army Retreat in IT), including reader comments and my subsequent corrections/additions.

Enjoy and thanks for your comments in advance.
