Yes! A two-part essay on Mosby Parsons and his Missourians is available in "Confederate Generals in the Trans-Mississippi, Vols. 1 & 2" (University of Tennessee Press). Volume 1 came out in 2013 and Volume 2 came out just a few days ago. The first essay discusses Parsons' early life, his Mexican war experience and his command in the Trans-Mississippi until Jan. 1864. The second essay discusses Parsons service in the Red River Campaign, the surrender of his troops at Shreveport, and his murder in Mexico just two months after the war ended. The information on his murder is all new scholarship that I discovered in the National Archives in 2011.
