I point out the death date discrepancy again. Find a grave index lists Jan 16, but if you look at the stone it lists Mar 16, 1862. The Linn Co Biography published 1882 lists his death date as reported by his son Robert as Mar 16, 1862. 60 days difference makes me think a January wounding might be less likely.
