Recently, Drew Wagenhoffer noted on his excellent blog, Civil War Books and Authors, the publication of a new journal by an officer of the 7th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry, USA. The citation for the journal is Ben. Tolbert Humphrey, Missouri Volunteer: The Civil War Journal of Captain Benjamin T. Humphrey. While I have yet to read it, I look forward to doing so.

Another diary that deals with the 7th Missouri Cavalry, is Tom Jewett, ed., Failed Ambition: The Civil War Journals & Letters of Cavalryman Homer Harris Jewett. I have read this volume and it is excellent.

Published diaries, letters, etc., of Missouri soldiers, blue or gray, are not plentiful to say the least. Persons interested in the 7th Missouri Cavalry Regiment are lucky indeed.
