Thanks for that notice that James Cundiff died at St. Joseph in 1885. Do you have a source for that note?

John, I see in Bruce's "Confederate Colonels" that Colonel Lawther was from Jefferson City, and, of course, Confederate recruiters couldn't ply their trade there. I suppose that is why Lawther worked with Poindexter in NE MO. That makes sense to me. I will watch for your further info on LTC Cundiff.
