Re: Capt. Charles Woodson's 1st Missouri Cav Co. A

This is the only Kelly found in Woodson’s Company and his record consists of but one card. There is no indication of his previous affliction or when captured.

J. Kelly, Private, Captain C. H. Woodson’s Cavalry Company, Missouri Volunteers, joined for duty and enrolled July 1, 1863 at Richmond by Col. D. W. Vowles for the war, recorded present at the July/August, 1863,** no other records

Note, This company has no horses; the majority of the men lost their horses in Mo. while in service

* This company was organized at Richmond, Va., in July, 1863, out of Missouri men who were paroled prisoners of war. It served as Company A, 1st Regiment Missouri Volunteers, and was at various times attached to different organizations

** This is the only Company muster roll in the records, they were stationed at the Orange C. H., Va.
