Re: Details of Sept. 1862 action near Hartville?

Red,

I examined the account in "Sterling Price's Lieutenants" which is on page 197, which mentions father Julian as well as son. CPT J. K. P. Frazier. That account clearly states regarding Colonel Julian Frazier in footnote #29 that he was "...killed in action at Humansville, 26 March 1862" citing the "O.R." series 1, vol. 8, p 355, and also citing Carolyn Bartels' "The Forgotten Men." The only mention of Capt. J. K. P. Frazier was that, like Colonel Julian Frazer, J. K. P. was also mustered out of the Missouri State Guard on 16 March 1862, according the MSG morning report records. That seemed to be the only mention of J. K. P. Frazier in "Price's Lieutenants," or did I miss something?

Reading the "O.R" entry again, I was surprised to see that LTC McClurg gave credit to two local doctors for assisting with the casualties of the 26 March 1862 action at Humansville. The second doctor McClurg thanked was "Frazier, of Stockton, Cedar County." The 1860 census of Lynn Twp, Cedar County in or near Stockton mentions a Julian family of merchants and nearby William J. Frazier, 22, clerk, on page 59, and on page 60 James M. Frazer, 42, merchant. Both those Frazers and the senior Julian family members were born in Tennessee, as was Colonel Julius Frazier.
