The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Missourians in Federal Units

Wayne,
I had no idea folks had worked so much on the Civil War in those counties, and even studied the riverboats that plied the Osage River. Your work on General Price's crossing place shows the Rothove family that first settled at that crossing, and I actually know a modern descendant of that clan. I'll pass this along to the man.

Regarding your research on the route General Price took through that area, I have little need for that information, since I work exclusively on the guerrilla side of the house. However, there are some researcher/writers working on two separate books about Price's great raid. You may be able to discover their names by searching for past message traffic in this forum. If you cannot determine who they are, you could place a query in this forum and encourage them to come to you. You definitely have something to offer regarding where Price's army crossed to the south side.

Thank you for sharing this information with me.
