Bent Woods, C.S.A.

As usual I'm researching another "off the radar" Confederate/bushwhacker. This one's name is Bent Woods. I'm not disappointed in he being a challenge as documents on him are near non-existent. Here's what I have in a nutshell; Woods is mentioned as a commander of bushwhackers in a Provost Marshall document in the Rolla, Mo. district dated Nov. 28, 1864. There are two men listed as belonging to Quantrill with a last name of "Wood", one of them though was killed in 1863 near Napoleon, Mo. The other named Benton Wood was mentioned as being involved in the Lawrence, Ks. action. I have wondered if his name may have been Ben T. Woods? Maybe he was of Indian heritage, hence the name of Bent Woods, i.e. Indian trail trees. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Garrett
