In my research, there's one thing I just haven't gotten ahold of yet and I was hoping I could get an explanation from someone. I havent distinguished Enlisting and Mustering In. As an example....if someone Enlisted in say June of 1862, but didnt Muster In until say February of 1863, does that mean he didnt do anything from his enlistment until he was mustered in? He wouldnt have been in any fights or battles or raids? I have some history of a soldier riding on this question. I cant figure out if he was at a certain place or not. Can someone please explain the fine point to me?! I would greatly appreciate it!
