Don't know if this will help, but the diary of Lt Thomas McClure, Co D, 23rd Illinois, [Mulligan's Irish Brigade] has an entry on "Sep 14, 1861 - Six o'clock a.m." which reads, in part, "A Col [of Price's command], whom we hold as a prisoner, says . . . We mortally wounded Gen Price's son (who is an officer) in the early part of the engagement. . . ." This refers to the Siege of Lexington, Missouri,es' command] Sep 12 - 20, 1861.
