Hackried/Hukriede was a farmer and stockman who resided at Truxton. His brother-in-law, Conrad Drunert, was killed in the Briscoe Farm Skirmish. Hackried was a native of Lienen, Prussia, having arrived in the U.S. in 1856, at the age of 16.
