I just returned from the annual William C. Quantrill Society meeting. It was excellent!!! We went on a bus tour of the different places around Independence, MO where Quantrill and his men fought, stayed and had their reunions. Later, the Jackson County Historical Society put on a "skit" with several men playing the part of politicians after the Civil War. The "Radical Republicans" and a couple of Democrats. It reminded me of todays debates, not much difference!!!!! Then that evening we listened to Paul Petersen. He was very good; I had listened to him before, and this was the best ever!
