You are welcome, but there are plenty of other descendants of southern soldiers from other counties in the same boat. It's a tough job, but it is possible, and with a little help in a place or two you might find your way to some answers. Look in the 1860 census of Callaway County and try to nail down some middle initials for those Smith boys. That may help.
