I haven't studied that particular brigade, but Col. Caleb Perkins was recruiting in Howard and Boone Counties in the summer of 1864 and, with George Todd, Tom Todd, Frank James, et al. engaged the Federals at Goslin's Lane north of Rocheport on Sept. 23, 1864 (where Perkins lost his pocketbook on the field of battle). With Bill Anderson and his men joining with them that night, the force appeared at Centralia four days later; the Confederate numbers being reported to be in the hundreds at Centralia, a very significant portion was probably Perkins recruits. Perkins joined Price a few days later. As for who his company commanders were, someone else may be able to answer that--having joined Price's command during a time of near chaos with skirmishes and battles taking place on a daily, if not hourly basis, did Perkins' command exist long enough for muster lists to be made out or for other records to be compiled?
