Several months ago, someone asked about the availability of Sherman Lee Pompey's book, Keep the Home Fires Burning: A History of the 7th Regiment Missouri State Militia Cavalry in the Civil War. Although originally published in 1962, the Johnson County (Mo) Historical Society currently has a reprint of the booklet available for sale. It is a thin, paper back booklet, 45 pages in length. The first 20 pages are a narrative history of the regiment, while the balance is appendixes. I ordered it from the Johnson County Historical Society website, which can be found easily via Google.
