Hi Cheryl and Jim -

as Jim knows, my ggg-uncle Wm. A. Jackson was in Clardy's and lived in Wayne Co. MO near Patterson. I was VERY interested in your listing your Chilton ancestor, as my gg-gf William Carroll Byrd lived near Brunot, in Union Twsp. of Iron Co. MO (earlier part of Wayne before 1857) and had some interactions with the Chiltons according to documents I obtained from the Ironton courthouse several years ago.

Cheryl - have you run across Wm. C. (sometimes W.C.) Byrd (Bird) in any of your research, etc.? Am still trying to find out if he might have been in the CSA or perhaps some partisan (guerrilla?) unit. His brother-in-law, Wm. A. Jackson in Clardy's, moved back to the Murray, Calloway Co. KY area (his parents lived there) and is buried in the Locust Grove Cemetery there.

Any/all info, suggestions, leads, etc. are VERY glady accepted....???

Ken Byrd

some info re the younger brother of Wm. C. Byrd who also lived in Missouri: http://11arkansas.com/yank/robert_byrd.htm
