Family story has it that my GGG grandfather fought on the side of the Confederacy all four years of the Civil War. He left his family in Joplin, MO. to fight. When the war was over, he found himself in Baton Rouge,LA. with no transportation home to MO., so he had to walk from LA. to MO. to get home in 1865. No other information..Where do I begin to find out what reg. or Co. he was in?
