Re: The Ten.
In Response To: The Ten. ()

James A. Vaughn formed with nine other men at the farm of Mrs. Samual Crump between Independence and Blue Springs.
Why would Mrs. Samual [sic] Crump host a meeting place in her home? It seems to me that one must have a stake in this thing! Her husband, Samuel Crump died Sep 16, 1854 (circumstances unknown). He was 34 years 4 months and 15 days old... ( A few months following the Kansas-Nebraska Act.)
Samuel was the uncle of the James and John T. Little that attended the meeting! ...Samuel had a son, John T. Crump whom would have been the man of the house at the time! John would have been 16 years, 8 months and 17 days old at the time.
Per: The Encyclopedia of Quantrill's Guerrillas, by Rose Mary Lankford; Warren Welch listed Crump on his roster and was reported to have served under Bill Gregg from February 1862 to January 1863. (Just over a month later...)
Edwards listed 8 men; the Roster said Vaughn, James A. formed with 9 other men...
