Thanks for the help. I'm trying to put together an accurate Union and Confederate Order of Battle (OOB) for the Sooy Smith Expedition (Meridian Campaign). The Union Cavalry units are pretty easy, but their is only one named battery, the 1st Illinois Light Artillery, Co. K. Then there are these mountain howitzer batteries. There is one that's a part of the 4th Missouri Cavalry and another in the 2nd Iowa Cavalry. The reports in the OR's and in books list as few as 20 guns and as many as 30 for the Union forces. So far, I can count fourteen, including these mountain howitzers. I need to find, at least six more guns.
