Colonel James Posey Woodside was incorrectly identified as being killed in the engagement at Spring River in March 1862. I do not know how the misinformation came about but he ended up to my understanding not to have been wounded in this engagement. He was subsequently wounded at the Battle of Corinth, October 3, 1862 and disabled for field service. He served in the Consolidated 1st and 4th MO Infantry and surrended at the fall of Vicksburg. He was in Selma, AL staying with a Mrs. Jackson and surrended in Merdian, MS in May 1865. I am a direct descendent of him. The details of his military service after Corinth are sketchy and I would like to know more.
