I'm just sorry we couldn't have nailed the identity of those Rebs in Union uniforms better than that. I'll keep a lookout in case something more comes my way on this. There are some other such mysteries in that region of those weeks about the identities of other groups of northbound guerrillas in blue uniforms. Many or most of those Confederates did not live past 1864 to leave a written record to clear up such things, and the Yanks they killed weren't talking either.
