Stop looking. You have helped me after all. The 1860 Saline County census lists two Hendrick families. You have now eliminated the Robert Hendrick family of Miami Twp since I already knew he was born in VA and you added that Robert served in the CSA. Now I will take an educated guess and go with the other family, a German-born couple with four children born in New York that lived in Jefferson Twp in NE Saline County. They probably lived in or near the German-American enclave of New Frankfort that the guerrillas loved to torment. It fits. Thanks. You came through again.
