I am trying to find out if ET Benton, listed by NPS as Pvt. Williams Reg. MO Cavalry, may be Elisha Benton of Clay CO, MO. Elisha was born in KY in 1822, Moved to Clay CO MO in 1844. Clay County was an extreme "Southern" county with most of their Pre-1860 residents having moved from KY and VA. Clay CO was the home of the James brothers and their cousins, the Youngers. One of Elisha's sons born after the WBS was named Robert Lee Benton. Is there a roster of this unit? Is it known by any other name? Thank you,
