Frederick Way's "Way's Packet Directory, 1848-1994" on page 238 tells about the steamer "J. Frank Pargoud."

The side-wheeler was 219 by 36 by 7 feet, built 1860 in Jeffersonville, Indiana for Capt. John W. Tobin of New Orleans--the sole owner. She had 24 8-foot boilers, weighed 522 tons, and ran between New Orleans and the Oachita River. During November 1861 ownership was transferred to Mary Frances Tobin. The "J. Frank Pargoud" was taken up the Yazoo River during the war and scuttled at Greenwood, MS 13 May 1863. A few weeks later during July she was burned to prevent capture.
