Fort McCulloch, named for Gen. Ben McCulloch who was killed at the Battle of Leetown (Pea Ridge) AR (March 7, 1862), is on private property and inaccessable to the public. I have seen photos of earthworks that are still visible that resemble rifle pits along the southside of the river.

Many maps show the misspelling of "McCullough" which was, unfortunately, perpetuated on military maps of the late 1800s.
