You are right. I was quoting President Harry Truman who said that his grandmother was put in a "concentration camp" due to Ewing's General Order # 11. When his Mom came to visit him at the While House, she refused to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom.
Most of my ancestors were Union. Several of them lived just outside Lawrence, Kansas. Others lived in Cass County, Missouri, and were Confederate. I wrote a few short articles for the Musick Family newsletter about my ancestors, including those along the border during the Kansas/Missouri War.
